CURING THE BLUES WITH A NEW PAIR OF SHOES: Because Nothing Beats A New Pair of Shoes by Dixie Cash*

Texas' most dynamic due, Debbie Sue Overstreet and Edwina Perkins-Martin, are celebrated hairstylists in Salt Lick, Texas as well as pseudo-celebrity sleuths and co-owners of The Domestic Equalizers.Their latest case finds them caught up in a mystery involving none other than The King, Elvis Presley. Salt Lick is having an Elvis celebration with all the trimmings.

The trouble starts when a pair of blue suede shoes worn by Elvis is brought to town and mysteriously disappears. Debbie Sue and Edwina participate in a "cover-up" to disguise the missing shoes only to discover a mysterious figure, Adolf Sielvami, the Keeper of the King Museum in Las Vegas who loaned the shoes, doesn't exist! What's happened to the shoes and who is Adolf Sielvami? To complicate matters there are reporters in town from the Dallas Morning News (Sam Carter) and the Fort Worth Star- Telegram (Avery Deaton) sniffing around covering the Elvis celebration and sniffing around each other.

Love and lust is in the air in Salt Lick! The Dixie Cash novels are especially important right now. They make me laugh. In this day and time of chaos, the value of a good laugh can't be slighted. The plot of the book is fun and Elvis lovers will enjoy it. The whole idea behind the story and the characters in it is a winning combination. I give this novel an A+. What do you think?
