Another novel that will almost make your heart explode it is beating so fast! The author has written the novel under a pseudonym for reasons that will become clear when you read the novel. He knows too much. This novel will make you wonder if anything is what it seems. What do you think?

TRUST ME

University of Texas graduate, Luke Dantry, has a job that keeps him on the cutting edge of the war on terror, but behind his computer screen where he feels safe and anonymous. He works for his stepfather's Washington think tank infiltrating a maze of extremist websites he nicknames "the Night Road." Luke's job is to gather data and information about violent-prone malcontents as a way to help prevent terrorism. His sudden kidnapping at gunpoint makes him understand that the Night Road runs much deeper than he thought. Luke is left for dead in an isolated cabin. It is then he realizes that the research he has been doing is a threat to the Night Road and its reach extends much closer to home than he imagined.

After a daring escape, the Night Road masterminds on his heels, he flees from Texas to the streets of Chicago, to the high-rises of New York and the landmarks of Paris. While running for his life, Luke uncovers a trail of dirty money, terror, vengeance, and betrayal. Luke must negotiate a path between unconditional trust and unspeakable behavior in order to stop the Night Road before their horrible master plan can come to fruition.

This is truly a thriller! For most of us, the Internet is a tool we use daily for business, communication, education, and/or networking. But, the Internet has become en equally important tool for terrorists, a breeding ground for new converts and a simple, anonymous way to connect with like-minded individuals and plan their attacks. I had no idea there is a Dark Web Terrorism Research at the University of Arizona - http://ai.arizona.edu/research/terror/index.htm. This novel scared me with it's touch of reality. BUNDLE OF TROUBLE: A Maternal Instincts Mystery

First-time mom, Kate Connelly, may have found the perfect work-from-home Mommy job: Private Investigator? After all, the hours are flexible, she can take the baby along on stake-outs, and if you're going to be up all night anyway, why not solve some crimes?

Kate had imagined she's spend her maternity leave crooning lullabies and snuggling her new baby daughter, but then she receives a disturbing phone call from the morgue. It seems a body has been pulled out of San Francisco Bay, and the police believe it just might be her brother-in-law.

In addition to trying to solve the mystery of how one six-pound baby can generate ten times her weight in laundry, Kate finds herself diaper deep in a murder investigation and the bodies keep dropping! When Kate's husband becomes a suspect in the crimes and is hauled off to jail, Kate must crack the case faster than you can say "diaper rash" to keep her little family together.

This is fun and a terrific escape. I am like the Butterfly McQueen character, Prissy, in Gone With The Wind, "I don't know nothin' 'bout birthin' babies!" , and yet I still enjoyed this novel. The plot is quite clever and the addition of the baby makes for an interesting dynamic. What do you think?

Calling all Romantics! This is a lovely slice-of-life novel filled with complicated relationships and a happy ending. It's an interesting story. Pay particular attention to the horticulture in the novel and the legend of the Dandelion. What do you think?

OPHELIA JOINED THE GROUP MAIDENS WHO DON'T FLOAT: Classic Lit Signs On To Facebook
By Sarah Schmelling

I can't say enough good things about this book. It's funny, it's smart, it's worth your time to pick up a copy! Sarah Schmelling is so creative and has created a book that brings classic literature (50 authors and characters) to life.

When humorist Sarah Schmelling transformed Hamlet into a Facebook news feed on McSweeney's, it launched the next big humor trend--Facebook lit! In this world, the king "pokes" the queen, Hamlet becomes a fan of daggers, and Ophelia renounces her interest in moody princes.

From The Odyssey to The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, to Pride and Prejudice to Lolita, this book brings the conventions of social networking -- profile pages, status updates, news feeds, games and quizzes-- to some of literature's best-known works, authors and characters.

What would Edgar Allan Poe, Jane Austen or James Joyce post on their "walls?"

What would Gulliver, Miss Havisham or Captain Ahab say in a status update?

After William Shakespeare welcomes all of these players into his network, mayhem quickly ensues!

This is a collection for a twenty-first generation of readers. Long live the Classics" 2.0! What do you think?

HOW TO BE A HEPBURN IN A HILTON WORLD: The Art of Living With Style, Class, and Grace
By Jordan Christy

I think it's important to tell you who Jordan Christy is. Jordan is a publicist for Warner Bros. Records and has worked with many artists and celebrities. She has also written for fashion magazines and music trade publications. In other words, Jordan is on the front line to witness the impact on young women of the fashion choices made by celebrities.

In a society driven by "celebutante" news and MySpace profiles, women of class, style, and charm are hard to come by. The Audreys and Katharines of the world continue to lose their luster as thongs, rehab, and outrageous behavior burn up the daily headlines. But despite appearances, guys still want a girl they can take home to mom, employers still like to see a tailored suit, and peers still respect classy conduct.

This little book is filled with fun assignments, notable names, and real-life examples combined with "old fashioned" advice. The book covers everything from diet, speech, work ethic, friends, relationships, manners, makeup, and fashionable yet modest clothing, to showing modern young ladies how they can be beautiful, intelligent, and fun while retaining values and morals.

Of course I really thought the advice in the book would be valuable to any young woman who finds herself "exposing" more of herself to the world, whether in person or on-line, than she really should. What do you think?
